llkka Kakko says some very nice things in his book about our own take on the Corporate Fool concept, which was born back in 1998. I can return the favor many times over by saying that SERENDIPITY UNLEASHED has inspired me to rejoin his vision and explore again the potential of the Jester.
That’s partly because it’s such a thought-provoking book: diligently researched, powerfully argued, and fun to read.
And it’s also because the world – not just the business world – needs the Jester now more than ever. There are forces of separation at work in the world, operating with more and more force – and we need a counter movement led by the Jester. We need someone who can challenge the status quo and invite a different narrative beyond anxiety or apathy. We need someone who is adept at breaking down the barriers that have been installed between us. We need someone who can show us that our innate human ability to collaborate and create new futures together should be celebrated and released. That character is the Jester, and how the role is played has been brought to life in SERENDIPITY
